CLÍODHNA
In a remote, Irish-speaking region in the west of Ireland, CLÍODHNA, a woman in her early twenties, is driven to emigrate by a housing crisis and limited opportunities. As she grapples with leaving, she becomes entwined with the unseen mystical world around her, confronting the threatened status of her language, community, and her place within it. The film explores the deep ties between language and identity, and asks: when a language dies, what part of us dies with it?
